Syngonium Wendlandii Care Guide
Now comes the Syngonium Wendlandii care guide.

Before starting with how you need to care for the plant, you should know that it is super easy. There is no need to feel overwhelmed with taking care of this species as it does not require you to take out excessive time for its maintenance.

Below, we present some basic care requirements for the Syngonium Wendlandii plant, including water, light, soil, temperature, humidity, fertilizer, and pruning requirements.

– Water Requirements
When we talk about the water requirements of the plant, you must know that there is no need to worry. While it does need regular watering, you should know that it takes absolutely no time to get it done.

The requirements for water are average, so you can easily plant out the watering across three days in a week. The ideal time to do so is during the evening, which is more convenient when you’re done with work and other things.

The water requirement during summer is a little different than during winters. You will only have to check the soil during summers so that it remains moist throughout. Leaving it dry for too long might result in damage to the plant. If you’re living in a hot area, you will need to check the soil daily.

When you are watering during winters, you will need to make sure that you let the water dry out a bit from the soil before you water it next. You will have to make sure that you don’t dry it off too much, either. You should only let it dry for a couple of inches from the top and then water them. Limit the watering during this time, but don’t reduce it too much.

– Light Requirements
Every plant requires light but at different levels. You will find that this species does not require excessive or direct sunlight. So you will not have to worry about this at all. You can place them indoors with simple lighting in place, so you will not have to worry about moving them around too much.

One thing that you can do is add artificial light on top of these plants. Keep the light at a distance of 7-15 inches, which will be more than enough for you to work with. But that is also not too necessary, only if you have this option available at home.

This minimal care plant can also be grown in shaded outdoor areas. So if you wish to enhance the look of your outdoor area, you can easily add these plants in shady locations around. All you have to do is give them about an hour of sunlight, and that is it. There is no extra work than this.

A great thing about this plant is that it will endure all levels of light. But to ensure that it thrives, you want to give it about medium-level light throughout the day. When you do this, you will be able to see that the leaves will be better looking and bright.

– Soil Requirements
When it comes to the soil requirements, it is crucial to ensure that there is a possibility to keep the moisture intact within the soil. So you will need to create a mixture that allows water retention in the soil for a while. Doing so will help ensure that there is no excessive need for watering the plant.
Plant the Syngonium Wendlandii seeds in a mixture with moisture retention capabilities. You should choose the soil range of pH 6 to 7.5. This is the ideal range for you to choose from as opposed to anything else. The plant’s roots have an aerial system, so you will need to make sure that there is proper drainage within the system.

You can easily do this yourself as well. All you have to do is make sure that you add high-quality sand in the pot, along with the right fertilizer. If you do not have sand, you can use other options, such as perlite. Before placing the soil in the pot, you can make the drainage hole yourself.

You have to make sure that you add four parts of peat and one part of sand to mix it up and add to the pot with the drainage hole. You can make the holes yourself by using tools that are at your convenience. If you have a plastic pot, you can easily use a knife, scissor, cutter, or even a heated screwdriver for a DIY.

– Temperature Requirements
You will need to keep in mind that there is a temperature requirement for this houseplant. There is a need to ensure that you keep the day temperature about 59-86 F. You can maintain the indoor temperature easily if you have the system to control your temperature.

When it comes to nighttime requirements, you should make sure that the temperature should not exceed 64.4 degrees and not fall below 53.6 degrees. Along with this, you will have to make sure that there is no possibility of you leaving outdoors in freezing temperatures. They are not able to survive in such extreme temperatures. So you will have to ensure that they are not exposed to cold temperatures.

You will also have to ensure that you should have a controlled temperature environment for your plant. This is important because the Syngonium Wendlandii leaves, and the overall plant cannot survive when the weather changes too much all the time.

– Humidity Requirements
Humidity is essential for the plant, so you will find that it thrives in high humidity levels throughout the year. About 60 to 80 percent of humidity is ideal for the plant to grow. The bright green leaves will only grow if you have high humidity levels during the growth period of the Syngonium Wendlandii plant.

Typically, the possibility of having such high levels of humidity is not possible at all times. So going for a normal range of about 40 to 50 percent is also acceptable for the growth of this plant. Just make sure that it doesn’t remain too dry as it can disrupt its growth. Using pebbles over the soil in the potted plant can help maintain some amount of moisture and humidity in the plant.

– Fertilizer Requirements
Now, let’s talk about the fertilizer requirements in the Syngonium Wendlandii soil. It is ideal to use an organic fertilizer to keep away from harsh chemicals for the growth of your plant. More than that, you should know that adding excessive amounts of fertilizers isn’t necessary either.

You need to use the fertilizer only for a couple of months when the plant is growing. About 0.1 oz. of fertilizer is necessary for a quart of water. Spray the mixture in, and you will see that it results in beautiful growth of the plant.

You can also add fertilizer to the Syngonium Wendlandii soil if you want to. But you need to make sure that you add a diluted version for it. Don’t do this excessively all the time. There is only a need for it once a month during winters and once in two weeks otherwise.

This is a great option to go for to ensure that your plant is healthy and growing steadily, without the possibility of damage or fungus.

– Pruning Requirements
Pruning is not a requirement for this plant, but if you find that it is getting a bit too all over the place, then you would want to make sure that you prune at the right places. You will have to ensure the use of proper equipment for this.

Don’t just use any cutter for this. Instead, go for sterilized garden tools to eliminate the yellow leaves and damaged parts of the plants.
