One of the most popular bromeliads, Aechmea fasciata, is an evergreen with rosettes of distinctive variegated or banded leaves of silvery grey, often with spiny edges. A stunning, long lasting, bright pink flower grows in the center of the plant. In spite of their exotic appearance, growing an Aechmea bromeliad is actually very simple.

Our Bromeliad Aechmea Pink is absolutely beautiful and blooming or ready to bloom.

These plants are epiphytic. In their natural environment, they grow on trees, rocks, or other plants. Aechmea bromeliad care can be achieved by mimicking this environment or by growing in containers. The plants do well in a container filled with a potting mix that drains quickly, such as a combination of half commercial potting soil and half small bark chips. An orchid potting mix also works well. Large plants can be top heavy and should be in a sturdy pot that isn’t easily tipped. Place your Aechmea bromeliad plant in indirect light or moderate shade, but not in direct sunlight. Temperature should be at least 55℉. (13℃.). Keep the cup in the central rosette about half full of water at all times; however, don’t keep it completely full, as it may rot, especially during the winter months. Empty the cup every month or two so the water doesn’t become stagnant.

Water the potting soil well every month or two, or whenever the soil is somewhat dry, depending on temperature and humidity in your home. Decrease water during the winter months and keep the soil on the dry side. Rinse the leaves at least once every year, or more if you notice buildup on the leaves. It’s also a good idea to mist the leaves lightly once in a while. Fertilize the plants lightly every six weeks when the plant is actively growing in spring and summer, using a water-soluble fertilizer mixed to one quarter strength. Don’t feed the plant during the winter months.

Provide winter protection in cold areas.

Additional Info DO YOU GUARANTEE YOUR PLANTS?
We guarantee we will ship a healthy plant. There is no guarantee that your plant will survive and thrive in your space. Plants are living and perishable things. They require proper environment and care. Happy plants don't happen by accident.

We choose the healthiest plants in our inventory to ship to our customers. Once a plant is delivered to you it is beyond our control. We can no longer care for the plant, so you will have to, in order to keep it happy and healthy.

We are familiar with all the plants we sell. We grow from seed and cuttings. We propagate from mother and stock plants. Some plants are grafted. If you are having an issue with your plant, contact us so we can help with any issues at an early stage.

I RECEIVED MY PLANT BUT IT DIED SEVERAL DAYS LATER. CAN I GET A REFUND OR REPLACEMENT?
No. Once a plant is in your possession, it must be cared for by you. Care includes WATERING your plant. With the except of succulents, potted plants must be watered daily, especially in warm months.

HOW DO I CARE FOR MY PLANT?
We include care sheets for most plants. These are general guidelines.

Please Google care tips for your plant in your zone.

If you fail to heed the advice given, or do not research care for your plant, your plant may fail to thrive. Happy plants don't happen by accident.

I LIVE IN A HOT AREA WITH HIGH TEMPERATURES, WILL MY PLANT THRIVE HERE?
An unwatered plant in a container in the sun can die within 24 hours. The smaller the container, the more often water is needed.

Please do not order rare and/or expensive plants without researching if it will do well in your zone and what care your plant may need. I have no way of knowing about your climate, whether or not you're an experienced gardener, if you have a greenhouse or not, or how you intend to care for your plant.

Most people will not take greenhouse grown plants and then place them in the hot sun all day without watering. Unfortunately, some people do this and expect a refund after they've killed the plant. We are not here to fund your gardening attempts. Our plants are geared more towards experienced gardeners.

SHOULD POTTED PLANTS BE WATERED DAILY?
You should check potted plants daily in warm, dry conditions.

In summer, watering outdoor potted plants is necessary daily (and even twice a day) for most species, especially when temperatures reach over 85 degrees.

Watering PROPERLY is important. Proper watering means soaking the entire rootball. It doesn't mean wetting the leaves. It also doesn't mean waiting until the soil is dry.
