Description
Giant White Calla Lily – Calla Aethiopica This incredible Calla Lily is absolutely awesome and will reach 7′ with good moisture and fertility. It is cold hardy to zone 7b. It is hard to describe its majesty when in full flower with its giant white funnels which will also make excellent cut flowers. It has repeat bloomed for us all summer, but the spring rush is the best. In colder climes, one can use it as a large container plant and when it gets below the mid to low 20’s, move it into the garage or just bring it into the house until spring. If given enough light, it will flower inside through the winter. This is a great perennial for wet areas, and the more sun the better the flower production.
This variety boasts fantastically massive, 5-foot clumps of arrow-shaped, green and white speckled leaves that are sure to impress. The lush foliage produces extravagant white calla blooms atop 7 foot stems that possess an intoxicating aroma.
The boot-shaped calla flowers on White Giant come in a classic, creamy-white hue, and make perfect additions to large vases and beds alike. Not to mention, this variety is more cold hardy than the average calla and may be planted in the fall to enjoy in the following year’s garden!
Bulbs are started in 4″ pots. You can plant in the garden or even bring inside in a pot for winter. They’ll bloom inside too!
